disabled Backups, now Safari can't download to Downloads folder

New member | Level 2

i recently disabled backups of Documents, Downloads and Desktop on Mac. Since doing so, Safari cannot download to teh Downloads folder, returning this message:  Safari could not download the file “filename” because the disk doesn’t have enough free space.

files can actually download; just not to the Downloads folder, and specifically not from Safari. Chrome works exactly as expected.

this feels like some permission has been changed when the Downloads folder was moved back out of my Dropbox folder after turning off Backups. does anyone have input on what may be going on here?

fixed it. when Dropbox put the Downloads folder back in its default location, the setting for everyone & staff groups was changed to "no access." it's supposed to be "read only."
