dropbox content overwritten with missing parts

Hello,

i don't know what happens, but the content of my fropbox is all overwritten with the content of a file "win10.bin" that is also contained in a folder of dropbox.

I discover this after login some days ago, i had to change my password to login and discover this.

Someone know what happens? i have free version, i evaluated the business version sometime ago.

If exists a mode to have a backup and restore lost files i appreciate so much any help.

It sounds like you may have been affected by ransomware. Do you see anything relevant in your events page?

The ramsonware seems about 23/10/2020 on event page.

The win10.bin is about the same date.

I see only facts about 23/10/2020 and not before, is it right? please advise.

I have free account now, if i make una upgrade i can use rewind function?

Hey @Rino74, I'm afraid that you won't be able to use the Rewind feature to rollback even if you upgrade, as it's not retroactive. 

Do you by any chance have a local copy of these files?

i had a copy on an external ssd, strange interested 3d arts file only are missing.

I see is cancelled phisically on this ssd, but only the 3d arts i made for maya and unreal engine.

Do you believe the ransomware have the intelligence to do this or a person entered phisically to do it?

Anyway wondershare recover it is able to recover the undelete arts but i have to buy it, can you supply a software powerfull like this for free?

anyway i have another backup on an hidden pc in my office, and in another pc shipped outside italy, intrusion and spies are not new thing about my development for playstation--

But if we can restire the undeleted is better..

Although I can't pin-point how they may have been deleted, depending on the sort of account that you have, you can restore files within the last:

• 30 days of their deletion if you're on a Basic/Plus/Family account.
• 180 days of their removal if you're on a Professional/Business subscription.

Rewind is only currently available to paid subscriptions, as mentioned in this article.

If i have good understand if i make dropbox businness with added component CVI and CVE, i can restore yes?over the 180 days?

But the question is, if i made this upgrade now, it works even if was not present 190 days ago?

Since the feature isn't retroactive, upgrading now won't affect the restoration of your files. 

However, have a look through the web for any third party apps that might help do this.
