hyperlink in excel not working

I have an excel file that has multiple hyperlinks to files saved in a dropbox folder, the hyperlink points to a weblink and not a file/folder on the local computer.  The links worked about a month ago but now bring up a error in excel saying it is unable to open the link.  This problem seems to be specific anything related to dropbox as most other websites that I tried open just fine. 

If I create a hyperlink in excel pointing to "https://www.google.com", it will open no problem but if I create a hyperlink pointing to "https://www.dropbox.com" it will not open.
