i can open an excel or word file located in Dropbox on one computer, but not a different computer.

I have identical Microsoft 365 accounts on each computer. Setups are identical. I can open an excel file from DropBox in explorer on one of them with no problem. On the other i get an error message ---

Cannot open the file XXXX.xlxs because the file format or the file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and the file extension matches the format of the file.

Same problem with word and adobe files.

I can login to the other computer through remote access and open the file with no problem. I can also login to Dropbox on the web, open it, resave it, then open it through explorer.

why is this and how do i correct it?

Hi @ehallmarkcpa, thanks for joining the Community!

Just to check, was there a typo when you typed it out, since an xlxs file isn't a valid file type?

How large are the files you're trying to preview on the site? Do the file names begin with a dot?

This will help me to assist further!
