new files covering over other files

When adding photo files to my folder I've noticed the new photo is added over a previous file and it deletes the one underneath. In other words, it takes the place of an already added file?

Hi there, could you confirm if the file is being uploaded with the same filename as the overwritten one? This would be the only case in which the previous version of the file would be lost.

Could you confirm if the files are definitely deleted by checking the deleted files page here?

Thanks in advance!
