I have new Dropbox installation working in Linux Mint (Ubuntu) and it's syncing just fine except it's not aware that it is. That is, it reports it's syncing and downloading a particular file and no matter what, it stays that way.
The problem appears to be specific to one file on Linux. I copied the contents to a fresh file with a different format (extension) and now the sync reports it's up-to-date.
