'online only' not working

'online only' not working

when I click 'online only' and it switches to the blue working logo and then eventually then cloud symbol. but it still on my local SSD. It's not cloud only, I can check my system storage and it hasn't gone down.

 

Plz help, Finn

Could you send me a few screenshots of where you're seeing the files taking space on your computer?
 
If possible, please right click one of the Smart Synced files, and choose "Properties/Get Info", and send me a screenshot of what you see there for the size on disk?
