What has changed here: If I want to open a .doc file in my folder by double cliching the Dropbox icon  now it does not open it with my own Libre Office as usual but forces me to use  Word for Web or Google Docs. I don't want to use this programs!!! Dropbox are you grazy?

I wouldt be glad about any idea!

Thank you!!!

Hi @Michael F.3, thanks for posting today!

I'm sorry to hear about this. Are you trying to open the .doc file on the website, desktop or mobile app?

Previously, how did the function work on to open the file in the correct app? Did it automatically open the correct app, or did you need to select it?

Keep me posted!

Thank you Jay for responding!

On my desktop I click the Dropbox-Icon, then I click at the globe, because the file I want is not shown. My browser opens and I navigate to the xyz.doc file I want. In the raw behind the file name there are two little pull down menues: Share and Open. Clicking Open I have only the choices of Word for the web or Google Docs, nothing else. By simply double click at the file it opens in the browser in a show-only-modus. Means I can't work on it. What works: I use an other program like Total Commander, and open (double click) the file there. Then it opens with my standard text program (Libre)

Thank you for any idea!

If the file isn't appearing on your machine, but does appear on the site, then that is a different issue.

Most likely, it has an incompatible character in the filename that is preventing it from syncing to your machine. Try the info in that article to see if it helps the file to sync.
