providing dropbox link for a folder

New member | Level 2

I was about to send someone a link to one of my Dropbox folders, but decided to try it first. Ok, so the link worked -- but I was horrified to discover that I had access to my entire Dropbox contents from that very link. How? Via the horizontal menu on the top, which for me looks like:

Dropbox > taxes > 2019 > crypto > Binance > other

My link is for the other folder, but I can click anywhere such as in Dropbox and view everything!

I am hoping that the reason I can do this is because the system knows I'm the owner -- but is that in fact the case?

You're signed in to your account. Sign out, or use an Incognito/private browsing session, to see the link as others would see it.
