"Couldn't upload. Give dropbox permission to access this file."

Hi,

I have 800 file that wont sync due to an error "Couldn't upload. Give dropbox permission to access this file."

I have tried the "icacls "D:\Dropbox" /grant "%USERNAME%":(F) /T" fix suggestion on the website, but with no success.  Yes, I did change the dropbox file location.

Any suggestions?

Hey @Christo123, I’m wondering what led you to this error message; please let me know in your next message if possible. It would also be useful if you included the steps you’ve already tried on your end, just so as to ensure I’m following-up from where you’ve left off on your end.

Now Christo, if you’ve already followed the steps outlined here to repair permissions, then I’d suggest following the instructions relayed on this resource to run an Advanced reinstall, so as to move forward on the matter at hand. Once you get a chance to get going with that, please keep me updated on the outcome & I’ll do my best to check back with you. Thanks & I’ll be awaiting your next reply here!

Same isssue here first seen on 12.06.20 following update to new version of DB the previous day.

Followed in full all the steps here:

https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/sync-uploads/stuck-syncing#permission

using the CMD prompt.

Reported that all files processed OK.

Re-started the App, DB still reporting the same 23 errors

I updated DB yesterday, 11.06.20, to version 100.3.393.0

Don't recall issues before this.

System info:

Windows 10 Pro

1909

OS build 18363.900

Any ideas?

Hi @Dr_Rob, thanks for messaging today!

It looks like you’re running the beta version of the Dropbox desktop application.

To install our latest stable version, visit this page and switch ‘Early releases’ to Off.

Afterwards, re-download and install the app from here.

Let me know how it goes!

I'll give it a go.

But's its odd that the auto update on DB points to a Beta version.

I had a constant "nag" screen to update, finally clicked on Ok and then it connected to the update db setup.exe

So I'd suggest yo need to check this at your end also.
