This one's a little weird (Win10, Dropbox v13.4.21).  I've been saving my OpenSCAD work to a dropbox directory.  At first, about 33% of the time I tried to save, I'd get a "The process cannot access the because it is being used by another process." error.  Then I'd try to save again and it would work.  Didn't have the problem with any other software so I assumed it was a weird quirk with OpenSCAD, maybe the way it makes backupo copies or something.

 

But as of yesterday, I get the error 100% of the time.  I can't save an OpenSCAD file (even a brand new save) in any Dropbox directory.  But I can save normally in any non-Dropbox directory.  But it's just OpenSCAD - LibreOffice and other programs save files in DropBox with no issue.

 

So it seems to be some interaction between OpenSCAD and DropBox.  I've seen similar posts to this on this forum, but setting Dropbox Badge to "Never show" did not change the behavior.

 

If I completely close the Dropbox app, I can save normally.

 

Any ideas?

A year or so ago this was a problem with other file types (Photoshop, AutoCAD, MS Office, etc.). You'll probably want to contact Support for assistance.

Replies take approximately 1 - 3 business days with Pro users getting priority (longer for Basic users).

A year or so ago this was a problem with other file types (Photoshop, AutoCAD, MS Office, etc.). You'll probably want to contact Support for assistance.
