synchronising server and dropbox

synchronising server and dropbox

Explorer | Level 3

Hello,

We are three offices working on one project. My office shared the project folder from our server with the other offices with Dropbox. When someone from an other office put a file on Dropbox it isn't synchronising with the folder on our server. Is it possible to get a synchronisation this way?

Hi @Adver; welcome to our Community and thanks for using Dropbox!

Can you please clarify if you're referring to an individually shared file or perhaps a shared folder? Moreover, are you using an individual account or a team one?

While we're at, are you using the desktop app on your server

Any additional information is more than welcome!

Hello,

Thanks for your answer.

It is shared folder on the server. We have individual accounts. The desktop app isn't installed on the server.

Thanks for the reply and happy Monday @Adver

Can you all see this shared folder if you log into your accounts on our website

Also, if you don't have the desktop app installed on your device(s), there's no syncing taking place so I'll need some additional information on why you'd expect the files to make it to your server without the app running there.

Let me know what you find and we'll take it from there.

One more monday morning

The folder is shared.

It is the first time my office is using dropbox as a project hotel and is also administrator. I don't really know how to use dropbox profesionaly. I have to see how we can install the app on the server.

Hello,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to install Dropbox on the server (according to the company managing our server).

So, we might use Dropbox a bit differently than we thought without sharing our full folder.

Thanks for your help anyway.
