syncing between app and online

New member | Level 2

Hi all,

I sharead a folder with my friend. When he creates a new subfolder i can see the new subfolder on the online Dropbox, but I cannot see it on my desktop version.

The desktop version seems to be syncing fine, as when I create a subfolder, my friend can see it on this system (desktop version on Mac). Also, all folders on my desktop have the green icon telling me it's syncing.

How do I solve it?

Does the folder use any characters in the name that would be considered incompatible on your operating system? If so, it won't sync to you. This is common when sharing between Mac and Windows because Mac can use certain characters that are reserved as system characters in Windows, and can't be used in file or folder names.
