unable to work on shared files

unable to work on shared files

Explorer | Level 3

My partner and I work on files (Word and Excel) located in a shared DropBox folder. We have been doing this successfully for a few years. My partner is now after getting a new Desktop computer, Windows 10 with Office 2019. We both use File Explorer to access our folder and files. Unfortunately, even though i have shared the folder and given Edit rights to my partner, their edits seem to be saved but i can't see them in the DropBox folder. Does anybody know what the problem could be here please?

Hey there @kosullivan; welcome to the Community!

From the sounds of it, your partner is most likely working on these files locally on their computer without our desktop app running or syncing properly.

Can you ask them for the app's status as shown within their menu bar/system tray to see if that's the case indeed?

Let me know what you find!
