Newbie and 80 years old. Dragging photos and videos into a folder to share with family. I want them in creation order, but I cannot find any button or whatever to allow me to sort them. Can I re-order them? How?

Re: where is the sort button?

Hey there @ginny1,
So if you are using Dropbox via the website, you can sort your files by using these steps below:
  1. Sign in to
  2. Click Files from the left panel.
  3. Select either the second or third column along the top of the web page, and choose to sort by Modified.
If you’re wanting to sort the files on your desktop Dropbox folder, this will be different depending of the Operating System (eg. Windows, Mac, Linux) of your computer. In general you should see a column for "date", which you can click to sort by. Otherwise, I can suggest doing a quick web search with something like “how to sort files by date [OS]” to get the exact steps depending on your OS.
However, this will only change how you see the files in the folder. If that’s all you want to do then you’re all set! If you want to change the order in which the other members of the shared folders will see the files you can rename the files like 001, 002, 003 etc., since files are usually by default sorted by alphabetical order.
I hope this helps, please do let me know though if you have any other questions about this, I’ll be more than happy to help - Thanks!
