why isn't "Save to Dropbox" available for more than one photo in iOS?

why isn't "Save to Dropbox" available for more than one photo in iOS?

So in iOS "Photos" - if I select one photo, I have a very handy "Save to Dropbox", but if I select two photos the Dropbox option goes away? Is this Apple's restriction or a dumb move on Dropbox's part?

Hey there!

Thanks for posting on our forum page!

This is actually a known limitation issue, which only permits one photo to be uploaded per time by the Camera Roll on your iPhone.

However, the good news is that there is a work-around to this!

If you open up the Dropbox app on your up-to-date iPhone, you can go and select the Pictures tab. From there, select Photos.

This will take you to your Camera Roll, and from there you will be able to select multiple photos to upload to your Dropbox all at once!

Hope this helps you out!

Best,
Karina

I have iOS 10.2 and Dropbox 26.2 (from Nov 30) -

I think what you said is close, but I don't see a Pictures tab with a photos option - but there is the (+) menu with "Upload Photos" which seems to get me where I need to be, so that solves it, since I can select multiple photos there.

As a UI engineer I am curious if the "one file if from camera roll" is enforced by Apple or a choice by Dropbox.

"If you open up the Dropbox app on your up-to-date iPhone, you can go and select the Pictures tab."

Are you with Dropbox Support? Do you actually use Dropbox with an iPhone or iPad? There is no 'Pictures tab'.

Posts like this just add to the confusion of those like me who are trying to make sense of the strange behaviour of uploading photos from my Camera Roll to Dropbox. Without duplication and unwanted file name changes.

Hi Terry!

Thanks for taking the time to post on our forum page!

You're absolutely right, thanks for pointing that out!

When you open up the Dropbox app on your iPhone, you can press the Plus (+) Button.

From there, you can select the "Upload Photos" option, in order to select multiple photo's to upload to your Dropbox account.

Hope this helps clear up any confusion!

Best,
Karina

It worked just fine before ios13. I constantly selected multiple photos in stream then saved to dropbox folder. This was massively convenient for my workflow. Having to go through the Dropbox app is a nightmare and completely wrecks my workflow. WHY this change?!!!!!!!!!

Hey @buckaroo, thanks for reaching out on the Community!

While that’s a slightly outdated discussion, let me quickly note that there’s an option to multi-select items on Photos & Save to Files, where you can choose the Dropbox folder as the target location. If you don't see that, can you specify what's changed for you, so as ensure I'm advising you correctly?

I hope this helps; please let me know how you get on!

Yes I see that the Dropbox is listed under SAVE TO FILES, but for some reason it is greyed out on my phone and won't allow me to save to Dropbox

Thanks for the extra info @buckaroo

Quick follow-up question from me: Do you see Dropbox under your Locations as you’re viewing the Browse tab on the Files app?
