why uploading fails on a mac?

Hello all,

 

My mac runs really well and is maintained by our university IT dept. Recently, I uploaded a small pdf file, and it did not display. I uploaded it again a couple hours later, and it did not display. My boss searched for it and could not find it either. I uploaded it a third time and it did not appear anywhere in dropbox.

 

What compatibility issues could be happening?

Hi @FrankApple, thanks for posting!

Can you clarify for me where you're trying to upload the file from? Eg. via the desktop app, or the website.

Also, are you checking in your account online to see if the files is uploaded?

Hello Daphne,

 

Thank you for your questions. Yes, in this particular case,  I was uploading a small pdf file from my laptop's hard drive as always. Both my director and I were logged into dropbox and repeatedly looked and refreshed and looked for the file. It simply never appeared.

Did I answer all of your questions? Somehow in this new session, your question does not display on this page...

If you're still having issues with this, could you try clearing your browser's cache and/or another browser and let us know how it goes?

ok, my cache is always cleared each day when I close it. Each day as I begin, it is at zero...all of my workflow depends on using this browser (firefox), so if Dropbox is not compatible with firefox, please let me know. Thanks a lot.

Hi @FrankApple, generally, the web works best on the two most recent versions of these browsers (which includes Firefox). 

Just for troubleshooting purposes, could you try uploading content from a different one?
