Keynote powerpoint presentation not present on Dropbox.

Keynote powerpoint prevention was shared with a friend through DropBox.  Now when I try to "open recent" in my Keynote app, I get a message:

The document “Vietnam Revisited” could not be opened. The volume “ED BENES” couldn’t be mounted.

Then I get a message telling me to mount the volume.  I tried going through settings and security but nothing works.  What the heck is a "volume" anyway?  I'm waiting to see if my friend still has it on his computer and can send it back to me but he's traveling for a few days.  Maybe someone here can help me as I've been asked to give another presentation and I'd hate to have to recreate a PowerPoint to do so.  Thanks.

Well . . . fortunately the friend I shared my powerpoint presentation with still had it on his computer so he shared it back to me.  Whew!  There was a lot of work that went into making the first powerpoint and was not looking forward to redoing it!

That sounds like you have downloaded the Keynote on to a Windows machine and its trying to open it but not able to. Mac files are viewed as a folder on Windows devices in a lot of cases.

Have you checked that your versions of PowerPoint is capable of opening the Keynote file (i.e. version is up to date etc.)

Thanks Mark.  I should have explained . . . I’m on a PowerMac, not a Windows computer.

Mark: Yes . . Keynote is a native app on Macs for PowerPoint presentations. I’ve used it numerous times and the old presentations are still available on DropBox. This one gives me a message about mounting the volume when I try to open recent. I can’t figure out what’s happening.
