Store offline files on SD card on Android devices

Store offline files on SD card on Android devices

I have an ASUS ZenPad 8 running Android 6.0 and right now I'm running Dropbox on the internal memory.  This works great but I'm using up ~4.5Gb of internal storage.  I'd like to run Dropbox on my 128Gb microSD in the tablet but don't know how to do this.

I can (and did) do this on my Window's desktop but that was relatively easy, basically just changing the location call for Dropbox from my C: Drive to the 😧 Drive.

How do I do this in an Android system?

There is no feature in Dropbox that allows that on mobile devices. You can export files to the SD card, but Dropbox will always use internal storage.

There may be some third-party apps that will accomplish it for you, but they're not supported by Dropbox.

Thanks for the reply.  It's a bummer since, with my desktop, I was able to set the location of Dropbox as my 😧 drive and everything moved over.  Maybe one day!

Wish there was a way to save offline files to my device SD card. I have a lot more SD storage room than I do internal storage.

This is definitely _not_a_solution_ and should _not_ be displayed as such.
Is there a way we could place a feature request and vote for it ?

thanks !

Good suggestion. How do we make this happen? All you folks who run Dropbox on a phone or a tablet and want to run it on a SD chip should sound off.

I can't believe I have to change my "cloud provider" due to the SD Card storage limitation.

Dropbox, very bad from your part

I have nearly 50GB of music which I want access to anywhere, so I have DropBox on my phone. The phone has 64GB internal storage. I now have only 1.82GB free after making my music available offline. I have a 64GB SD card installed with 52.67GB free...how do you think that makes me feel?

COME ON DROPBOX, it's not that hard, simply introduce a choice of where to store offline synced files - PLEASE?!?

Please fix this. It's cheaper for me to switch providers than bug a new phone to solve this.

You (Dropbox) have this issue marked "solved.". That's lazy and ridiculous on your part.  Surely one of your programmers can look at the Android app and solve it.

Die Lösung ist "Dropsync" für Android.
