Can we have a download counter for files we share?

Hi, I just want to say that Dropbox needs a download counter! It's the only reason I go to other services when I need to share a file with people. Sometimes I have to upload to jumpshare FROM my dropbox. I don't need statistics, just a simple number that indicates how many times that file was downloaded.

A download counter should be native with Dropbox, please!

Pass your links through a link shortening server that provides stats, such as Bit.ly.

I use Dropbox to deliver files to clients. I would be nice to get a notification, just like WeTransfer when the file is downloaded..

"Nice to have"  this is ESSENTIAL to have.  Especially when Hightail and WeTransfer had this day 1.  This is a big deal issue for pro / corporate / commercial users.

Wish dropbox allowed us to see who actually clicks on the dropbox links and who downloads them, like a view count that would be nice. I know thats never going to happen though 😞
