Can we have different plans / price points / data combinations / plan sizes?

Can we have different plans / price points / data combinations / plan sizes?

Hi, I find limited in the choices of subscription plans. Basic/free and Pro/110$

I'd gladly pay something like 25$ a year for 50GB and a 2 users family plan.

Considering iCloud have a 12$ plan for 20 GB and 48$ for 200GB, that seems reasonable..

Dropbox has trialed smaller plans in the past and they were not successful.

You should be specific with these requests. What, exactly, do you want to see added?

I think dropbox needs more flexible storages for different users.

I only need about 100-500GB of memory, with lower cost.
2000GB is too big for me and my SSD is only 500GB.

Hi Rich!

Why not succeed when there are many people in need?

can you explain more!

Commented before, but here we go again. I have  fairly large image collection, and a music collection yet I'm only using 8.8% of my 2TB which means I'm paying for space I can't use.

This is a very old thread. The silence from Dropbox is deafening!!

There have been some super users who say Dropbox has tried this in the past and was unsuccessful. Dropbox’s only comment is, “not under consideration at this time.”

It would be nice if an authority at Dropbox weighed in and really explained to their many fans why they will not try offering more variety in subscription plans again.

No, companies don’t NEED to explain their business decisions to their customers but also, companies don’t need to offer such forums as these for feedback and suggestions— therefore, if Dropbox is serious about this forum they should use it to explain why they are ignoring this suggestion!

In the end it’s kind of a joke— hundreds of non-playing customers are taking the time to weigh in here, literally begging Dropbox to take their money and Dropbox is like, “Nah!”

Trialed before and 'was not successful'? I may not have been paying attention but I've been using DB for ten years and I can't recall any such trial. Can't find any reference to it on Wiki and other places. And what does 'not successful' mean?

Would really appreciate it if someone would supply the relevant details so we would at least know why the company is not acknowledging this very reasonable request.

If I had to choose between paying for the 2000GB plan (Plus plan) and the free plan (Basic plan), I would choose the free plan.

because I won't pay for storage that I never use.

p/s:

Hi @mbxdoc and @Stephen A.4 !

you speak very well!

Amazing indeed that this thread is still collecting comments seven years later.   It just confirms the principle that a good idea will never go away no matter how hard it is ignored, so to speak.

Dear Dropbox,

2 TB sounds fine, but it is really expensive for educational purposes. I have been using your service since the early times and believe I have not found any better cloud service. Please provide a 1 TB plan with a discount for university students and staff. Thank you.
