Can we have different plans / price points / data combinations / plan sizes?

Can we have different plans / price points / data combinations / plan sizes?

Hi, I find limited in the choices of subscription plans. Basic/free and Pro/110$

I'd gladly pay something like 25$ a year for 50GB and a 2 users family plan.

Considering iCloud have a 12$ plan for 20 GB and 48$ for 200GB, that seems reasonable..

The way I use Dropbox is very minimal. My total storage rarely goes over 100GB. But I like most of the benefits that come with the Plus plan. So, I‘m on the Plus plan, but I don‘t believe I‘ll ever reach the 2TB that come with it.

Assuming I‘m not alone, and there are gazilion of people who don‘t need that much storage, some kind of a Mini plan would be great. And by offering such a plan, Dropbox can capture another segment of the market—those who are currently using the free version of Dropbox or other cloud storage services.

Hi, I wanted to ask dropbox. Could you please allow me to use a 100GB plan for $24/year?

So, I am asking for 20 times less space for only 1/4 of the price.

Or should I suppose that the Dropbox does not care about people like us?

Thanks!

@Megan --

This idea has been proposed by users for years but Dropbox does not seem interested in altering their pricing model.  Why?

Look, Dropbox doesn't need to explain themselves to me-- but I think that tons of users-- actually, fans, huge fans of the service (I am one) would like to upgrade to a better plan with a little more memory or more device access for instance, but can't.  They can ONLY upgrade to the full 2TB plan and that much memory at that cost is a WASTE for a lot of people.

I've voted for the idea you linked to and I have been reading posts on this forum for years where people literally beg Dropbox to take their money... but no responses.  That is, these users are on free plans, want to upgrade but not to the full 2TB plan and hope for something in-between to emerge.  Perhaps I am wrong.  Perhaps the internal data says this is a bad business strategy.  I hope that is not the case.  I hope this changes.

I for one find Dropbox the best cloud service for my daily use but what I need is like 100 - 200 GB (NOT MORE) and unlimited device access (the three device limit is annoying).  I don't need 2TB-- not EVER.  I am happy to pay for these kinds of services but I am fundamentally opposed to waste and paying for the full upgrade is waste.  So I don't do it.  If Dropbox gives more choices, I'm all in!

Just replying to agree with OP in hopes that there will someday be more data plan  options

I wish Dropbox added smaller plans.. I don't need 2TB of space and I can't justify paying $15 per month if I'm only using 1% of it.

I would gladly pay $2-5 per month for a 50-100GB plan.

The smallest paid plan seems way over the top. Especially when it's only used for sync'ing a few apps that only need a small amount of data storage (my use case at least). The apps that this is used for, only support dropbox, otherwise they'd be off to the £1.40 ish 100gb g/drive option.....

The developers of the apps seem to ignore any pleas for supporting g/drive in the same manner as droopbox ignore pleas for smaller competitive plans. Some kind of kickback happening for exclusive droopbox support??

All the other 'features' that value add, aren't needed, barring the 5 devices as per the basic paid plan and 10-100gb tops....

Guessing there's two ends that are losing custom, the developers that only provide droopbox support and droopbox themselves.... hey ho.

Sincerely, it looks like Dropbox is trying to kill its own company.

If they had a pricing plan between the current Free and Plus plans, they will get more PAID users as many users will move from the free layer to this entry-point plan (and they will be much more users than the ones that will "downgrade" from Plus to that new plan).

iCloud, Onedrive, etc are offering the same space for less money or better storage plans (like 100GB, 250GB) for affordable prices.

Dropbox, instead, looks like they want to loose all their users (first, the free ones, then the paid ones) and close the company in the long (or not so long) run.

I'm right now at the point where the DEVICES LIMIT is forcing me out of the free plan, with 1 mobile phone + 1 tablet + 1 laptop + 1 desktop I exceed the 3-devices limit. So, what Dropbox offers me is to upgrade my 6GB of used data to 2TB, just to be able to install dropbox in my new iPad.

As I already paid 1€/month for 50GB in iCloud, I decide to go plus and check the prices and... 11.99€/month???? To store my 6GB of files with 4 devices? And there's nothing in between to choose from? 11.99€ is what I pay the whole year for iCloud 50GB.

So, it looks like Dropbox does not want me to become a paying customer, they want me out of their business by offering me 2000GB for my 6GB of used storage...
