Can we have different plans / price points / data combinations / plan sizes?

Can we have different plans / price points / data combinations / plan sizes?

Hi, I find limited in the choices of subscription plans. Basic/free and Pro/110$

I'd gladly pay something like 25$ a year for 50GB and a 2 users family plan.

Considering iCloud have a 12$ plan for 20 GB and 48$ for 200GB, that seems reasonable..

I agree that there should be some in-between pricing/storage space other than pro for $99.

My Samsung deal just ended with Dropbox, I would gladly pay for it but don't need or want the full terabyte and the $99 price that comes along with it. Provide some options please in your pricing for those of us who don't need the "Pro" version. Can us non-business people have a "not so Pro" version. I would gladly sign up for a $25-$50 version that included 1/4 of the space or even less.

Dropbox have trialled smaller plans and it lost them money.

Too many people downgraded from the $99 plan to make the new signups cost effective

Actually, Demetrios, it doesn't help. All that can get you to something in the neighborhood of 10 or 12 GB. What Hasse and I are wishing for (and I imagine thousands of other free account users), is a Dropbox semi-pro with something like 100 GB for $50 a year. I'd do that in a heartbeat. But I don't need a terabyte, and I can't justify spending $100 every year for file storage I can get (yes, not as good, but good enough) from Google Drive or Apple cloud drive, etc. I hope some day Dropbox will wake up and smell the revenue that's just sitting on the table, waiting to be collected.

I think lots downgraded their plans because they switched to competition. I am seriously considering switching to Google and get 100gb for $2/month that's more then enough space for me.

Now that they have a 1tb plan i don't see how they could lose money on plans that are lower. If the higher price is stopping people from subscribing they are not making any money from us. If they had lower plans more people would subscribe and continue using the same space as they are now.

Dropbox trialled smaller plans in the past and found that they weren't financially viable.

(And remember it was, until a few months ago, 100GB for $9.99/month.)

100GB or 1TB, it costs DB the same to run your account, so they offer you 1TB and you use what you need.

In the end, what is 99$ a year for all the comfort you are getting with it!
I honestly tried them all, OneDrive, Google Drive...but in the end always ended up with dropbox and paid for a pro account. Not regretting it for a moment. It's the only one that "just works" in my opinion.

Chris - simple business.

Smaller plans = less cash. People on the 'big' plans who dont need that space downgrade.

So instead of making $9.99pm on people they make (say) $5 so lose $5 per month per user. That means to break even they need to get 1 sign up - all that does though is give them the same money. It doesnt give more. Yet costs more to run.

Ultimately Dropbox tested it and found thats what they want.

For me I wont use Google as I dont want them looking through my documents to give me adverts etc.

I continuing to say : the most cost benefit is the Office 365 with the unlimited onedrive space

Don't get me wrong i understand people would definitely downgrade which they would lose that extra revenue from but i would gather to guess that the amount of NEW subscribers they would get would more than compensate them for that loss. If there was a 100 gb plan for even $3-5 a month i would subscribe for the year as i am sure a lot of others will as well.

But. You keep saying 'I would gather to guess', however, whenever they have trialled this it HAS NOT worked. They lost money.
