Can we have different plans / price points / data combinations / plan sizes?

Can we have different plans / price points / data combinations / plan sizes?

Hi, I find limited in the choices of subscription plans. Basic/free and Pro/110$

I'd gladly pay something like 25$ a year for 50GB and a 2 users family plan.

Considering iCloud have a 12$ plan for 20 GB and 48$ for 200GB, that seems reasonable..

Dropbox trialled smaller plans in the past and found that they weren't financially viable.

(And remember it was, until a few months ago, 100GB for $9.99/month.)

100GB or 1TB, it costs DB the same to run your account, so they offer you 1TB and you use what you need.

You were just told why Db doesnt do 100GB accounts, if your to arrogant to read it, then go to google.

Maybe I'm not so smart... But I still dont understand why there is no any "mid size" offer... (To be compared with other similar services)
If the solution to save my money is "go to google"... i will...

I said "arrogant" not "ignorant".
Costs to DB in general do not go up OR DOWN between a 100GB account and a 1000GB account, it costs them pretty much the SAME amount to run your account at either size.
So if it costs them $X to give you 1000GB and it costs them the same $X to give you only 100GB, then they will NOT discount you to a cheaper plan when the COST to them is the same. The 1TB pan used to be 100GB they multiplied the storage by 10 in one day, as he costs to them to do so were one off, and then the same to run your account.
They will not offer a cheaper plan where it costs them more than what you pay, would you?

I've had a Dropbox free account for years, and for 2 years, I had a free Samsung bonus of an extra 48 GB. But even with that, I'm pretty sure I never went above maybe 10 - 20 GB or so. Maybe I would have used a little more if it weren't for the fact that I knew it would disappear after 2 years. But 1 TB is way more than I need or want, and I can't justify spending $100/year for this. However, I'd love to be able to pay up to $25/year for a bit more capacity, like maybe 100 GB, or even less money for 25 - 50 GB. I really think you need to consider some more tiers other than the single one available for personal use.

There are many other free cloud storage accounts, and I will make use of them before I'll pay so much for Dropbox, and I'll save Dropbox for data that needs it for apps that support the API. I think you are missing out on a possible market segment that might be worthwhile. Perhaps you could even make it available to users that have had accounts over a year, to reduce support costs.

They've been trialled and lost Dropbox money.

Hi DB Developers & Fans,
I'd like to suggest Management consider a new pricing tier for a first-level paid upgrade from the Free account.
Please consider charging a nominal $4.99 for 250GB of storage space. That's a great entry point into paid conversion, and will encourage further upgrades to the existing $9.00 for 1TB plan. It highlights the $9.99 price point as a strong value while competing with ZipCloud, Mozy, LiveDrive and BackBlaze on their entry price points.

Thanks for listening!

Except that it would cause LOTS to downgrade (me, first in line!)
