Can we have different plans / price points / data combinations / plan sizes?

Can we have different plans / price points / data combinations / plan sizes?

Hi, I find limited in the choices of subscription plans. Basic/free and Pro/110$

I'd gladly pay something like 25$ a year for 50GB and a 2 users family plan.

Considering iCloud have a 12$ plan for 20 GB and 48$ for 200GB, that seems reasonable..

I'm sure this has probably been discussed many times, but why are there no upgrade options (at least that I'm aware) of something less than 1TB of data? I'm needing no more than 50 GB, 75 GB at the very most?

Because Dropbox have trialled smaller plans and found they don't work. Too many people DOWNGRADE meaning they lose money.

Also, remember, until very recently it was this price for 100gb - and before that 50gb.

Thanks Mark for the feedback.  I use other cloud solutions for backups and storage, but haven't abandoned my Dropbox account as of yet...thinking that Dropbox make a few more options available that are more economical than the current upgrade plan.  The amount of storage you get with the upgraded package has never been the issue for me, it's the price.

Thankfully thats the beauty I suppose of a free market - you pay what you feel its worth.

For me, I believe its worth it so I pay. I refuse to use Google for example which will use my documents to give me 'targeted adverts'.

[Opening sentence removed by moderator] dropbox is overexpensive. And its funny to see some users trying to justify it.

Hi

Over the last week Dropbox has offered me two different upgrades from Basic

The options were displayed when I selected the Upgrade to Dropbox Pro

https://www.dropbox.com/upgrade

Both were called "Basic+"

The first offer was 10 Gig of extra storage for AU$1.99 / month AU$19.99/ year.

The second offer was for 100 Gig of extra storage AU$6.49/month or AU$64.99/year

The upgrade to more realistic storage allowances option seems to be random, none of my friends see either offer.

Many of them would love more storage but consider the 1 TB of no value as it would take over 12 months to even upload that amount of data

Whats the story Dropbox, offer both the 10 gig and 100 gig as upgrade (top up) options

That way I can pay you some money

Whats the story Dropbox, offer both the 10 gig and 100 gig as upgrade (top up) options

Dropbox are likely just testing the water and conducting a limited trial.

It's nothing they haven't done before, so at this stage I wouldn't read too much into it.

If that is the case they are missing a lot of customers who would love a few extra gig and are happy to pay but can not justify the 1 Tb plan.

They are missing all the people who do not log on to their web portal and push the upgrade plan, I have never received an email from them promoting the Basic+ options. Really smart, test the market but do not tell anyone about the offers

Trying to fill in blanks when you're not privy to the facts is always a surefire way to reach a wrong conclusion.

As I said previously, at this stage I wouldn't read too much into it.
