Hi, I find limited in the choices of subscription plans. Basic/free and Pro/110$
I'd gladly pay something like 25$ a year for 50GB and a 2 users family plan.
Considering iCloud have a 12$ plan for 20 GB and 48$ for 200GB, that seems reasonable..
Looks what happened with conferencing software like Zoom they have taken the market to Teams, Skype Business, Google Meet and others, when DB realized that they need to change the plans it will be too late.
I moved out from Dropbox for few months after I used it for like 5 years++. It's saving my money a lot, I use only around 30GB storage, so I go with alternative and paid for around 19.99 per year instead of 119.88 (and bunch of unused storage area).
And FYI, some people argue that Dropbox has blah blah blah function, open your eyes and see the world around you. There are so many alternative offer identical function to Dropbox one and it's available from cheapest plan.
So if you guy feel Dropbox plan not suit for you, just move out.
@justdanyu Well, I am wondering, why you are answering, since you have already left Well, my reason is that I have many outgoing links from files, which I cannot leave behind. No may to migrate them - even if I could have an overview of the files that are linked FROM.
But I fear that DB is losing it.
@pcoventry several levels of Porche, sure. But I have never driven a porche that didn't have **bleep**ty road grip. Sure, you can learn to ... slide into turns, but honestly, there really aren't that many places, where having a Porche doesn't also mean needing a garage and a good rebate on speeding tickets in small communities.
Can not agree any more! 2TB is much for me and the price is too high.
I just need for example 100GB for 5 devices , and the price can be much lower than plus now
I am unwilling to pay $9.99 per month for 2TB of data to be stored online.
I would be willing to pay $5.00 per month for 1TB of storage.
Does anyone else agree with this proposal?
Lots of requests for this, however, Dropbox have numerous times said it is not something they are going to consider.
Like any other contender DB is dependant on its users. That this string is still open to me spells that DB is still interested in hearing, what its users say.
How know, why there cannot be a competetative tier? Something that appeals to a group large enough to actually pay rather than be on the free account? I have nearly 10GB, because many years ago I got my friends involved in this cloud solution called DropBox. I've been recovering from illness for a number of years, so free upgrades and offers just went over my head, but for instance my girlfriend has a 100 free GB, which fits her needs perfectly. I wouldn't mind paying something for that. I do not need any other thing than SAFE cloud storage and LINKS OUT of dropbox. I like that I can see what my girlfriend does to our shared folders and files, but its not a selling point. And what else has no interest to me.Like I said before: I feel trapped - I cannot move up in subscription, because I do not want to buy more space than I need, and I cannot move to another cloud service, because I have a lot of links OUT from files in DropBox. The only way to move away is to pay my shortlink service - of the same age as DB - the same amount as DB wants pr/months for the right to change the source of my shortlinks. This is so ridiculous.
