Will dropbox ever be able to support tags on files? Would be great to categorize our design work by feature and format without creating lots of folders.
Sorry to spam this thread... but does anyone at Dropbox know when tagging features will be added?
Cloudfind seems to be the best way to do this outside of DB.
I've not used it yet, but does anyone know how it works? Once you've tagged DB files using Cloudfind, do the files stay tagged? Does Cloudfind always need to be present? Presumably it works in tandem with Dropbox. If you stop using Cloudfind, are all your tags lost?
Sure thing. I also saw you emailed me directly and I know my colleague, Gareth Adams, is already in contact with you. He'll help you get started next week.
Please, add this. Tags are really useful in macOS Finder, and they already sync as metadata via Dropbox, but we need to have Tags on Dropbox mobile apps and on Dropbox.com
Greg K. I've used Dropbox for about 5 years now after it was recommended by a local group of archivists doing research on the history of my organization. We have continued to use DB, and have been actively researching other programs because tagging will add functionality. Currently, we have to duplicate files in multiple folders (an unnecessary redundancy that will be resolved through tags). I don't want to change programs because I have been very satisfied with Dropbox. PLEASE escalate this request and add tagging to Dropbox as soon as possible. Thanks so much!
