Will dropbox ever be able to support tags on files? Would be great to categorize our design work by feature and format without creating lots of folders.
please build in the function that you can add several tags to a file. Please adapt the search function accordingly so that you can search for files with the desired tag. Thanks a lot Berlin Pieces
This feature should not be a option for any cloud storage service, it should be part of any plan and service offfered. If iCloud could provide that I know that Dropbox surely can do it. Please add this feature soon!
Hey All, I have great news! Check out Digitile. It complements your Dropbox account and allows you to create tag taxonomies for the entire team in a web application or in a chrome extension for convenience.
@bwalker2017thanks for the tip, I had checked out Digitile and wasn't a fan of their data sharing policy. It also wasn't clear to me how tags are shared across different users. We also have individuals who don't use Chrome.I would much prefer native functionality to handle this rather than relying on a third party tool.
Testing this issue in my Mac: if you go to Finder and choose your file or picture and then choose Get Info, there in Tags you can add the ones you need, and then with those tags you can select them in Dropbox's search.
@C-A How can you share those tags with others across your Dropbox org? Is that possible or is this only tags for yourself? I need tags that are accessible to all uses within our Dropbox org
Enable files to be tagged with specific words for ease of searching.
When creating a a file structure of images of documents, it would be handyt to be able to tag each document. Say I wanted a picture of a dog that either me or one of my collegues had taken. I would normally have to seartch through various folders to find any pictures of dogs. If I can just search for the #dogs and all the files we have that are tagged with that word show up, that would save a tremendous amount of time and make dropbox a very appealing platform to use.
