Disable/Enable Notifications for Certain Folders

Disable/Enable Notifications for Certain Folders

Is there any way to disable file update notifications for certain folders? I have a few applications syncing data to Dropbox and they generate a lot of notification noise on my desktop clients. I still want these folders synced on my desktop PCs, but I don't want to receive file update notifications for them. Is this possible?

I can't believe this still hasn't been implemented.  I think the main thing that would be required is to rework the Selective Sync window to show the list of folder names and then two tickboxes: one for Sync Locally and one for Notifications.

I have many shared folders and the frequent pop-ups are extremely distracting.

Agreed. I'd like to be able to disable notifications for a specific folder.

Absolutely! I use ClipaVu intensively across a couple of computers ( it's great to have my clipboard synchronised, so that I can clip from one computer and later paste onto another. However, whenever I [Ctrl]+c I receive a flurry of useless and annoying notifications about files with random names being saved in Dropbox. These notifications are merely data, not information. Muting them would be wonderful!

I agreed that notifications fshould be disabled for a specific folder. Technology is supposed to help increase our efficiency and productivity, not bog us down in inane, useless data.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add this functionality.  PLEASE.  I really need to be able to turn off notifications for client folders I'm not working in so I can only receive notifications for the client I'm working with on a particular day.  Seems like this would be super easy to implement.

You can turn off notifications all together from dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/en/help/34

Yes, I'm fully aware of that.  But I absolutely need the notifications on for the one client I'm working for on a particular day, but NOT the 12 or 13 others that I'm not working for, all which have massive amounts of changes in folders, resulting in tons of extraneous notifications I don't need.  But if I turn them all off, I'm at risk for missing my work of the day.  🙂

This would be very useful, please add the functionality whenever you can.

Cheers!

We're a year on, any hope to get this? I've just turned off notifications for Dropbox completely because of it. It hasn't effected me terribly much because the main guy I work with sits across from me, but if I needed to see updates more quickly, it'd be a pain. 😕
