Hello Dropbox (and community)! Our company uses Dropbox's wonderful services for not only storage but for collaboration and, in particular, editorial feedback on our comic content files. Would it be possible to consider adding a download comments or export function to your product roadmap sometime down the line? Perhaps all comments as a PDF file or (better yet) Word doc? I know our company would use it every day if not every hour. Thanks! -Comic Editor
+1 for being able to download comments!
I'm sending audio and video files to clients for comments. They can comment and it gets a time stamp. Great!
But then Dropbox won't easily let me download that information into a text document or spreadsheet. NOT GREAT AT ALL
I can't even copy and paste because the time-stamp is not something I can highlight. So now Dropbox has become completely useless for this.
Please give an option to download the comments with time-stamp. Exporting to a CSV should not be hard to implement.
It would be very helpful if users could save/download the comments from a video or document on my account. I edit and reupload many videos but when I do this, the comments from the previous version are gone and it would be helpful if I could save the comments for future use.
I have the same issue. Our organization uses dropbox and the commenting functionality primarily for editorial comments for updated literature and training modules. It is great to be able to get the comments, but the fact that there is no way to download, export, etc those comments is a little disheartening.
Yep, need to be able to export both comments and PDFs with comments, it would not be hard to implement, just use PDF marks.
This is a must for anyone doing serious collaborative editorial work. We should be able to download comments not just on PDFs or DOCs but also on media files (audio/video).
Thank you for your idea, while we can’t take every idea forward we do regularly re-review and will update you if anything changes!
@WalterSo this is the other Dropbox productivity change I would really like to see. And this is now also labeled "not important".
I can't help but see this as a disregard for what your users really need and want from Dropbox.
A downloadable option for the comments really shouldn't be that hard? Or at least something that you could honestly consider?
This "not for right now" status change feels really insulting and arbitrary. How many comments do you need on a thread before you'll actually consider a suggestion from your user base? At least a bit more information than the stock reply would actually help your users feel listened to......
....yesss! It would be very helpful. We are working with a lot of audio files and comments with timecode stamp. We need a comment-export for a file AND a whole folder. For example:
file name timecode comment
test.mp3 00:03 comment-1
test.mp3 03:34 comment-2
test2.mp3. 02:56 comment-3
...maybe as an additional, small app.
It would really make a huge difference...
