Dropbox Transfer - Identifying who has downloaded a file

Dropbox Transfer - Identifying who has downloaded a file

It would be great to be able to see who has downloaded a file sent via Transfer, not just the number of times it has been downloaded. That would enable the document creator to better track whether all members have downloaded the file—or with more sensitive files, that feature would alert the creator to any concerning downloads. Thank you for considering this.

I get notification when someone is downloading using the file-transfer I created but I can't see by whom.

Is my transfer being abused? Is it causing a security issue I need to worry about?

The information about who has downloaded a large Transfer File is rather basic and not particularly useful.  Drop Box informs me, for instance, that a file sent has been downloaded 30 times, but when looking at my list of who downloaded the file there are only 14 names who did and 19 who did not.  I am told that perhaps persons downloaded it more than once on different devices or had trouble downloading it and tried again, but all the feedback from receipients was not so.  This discrepantcy in the numbers is not very helpful and rather general and so I would suggest that perhaps drop box could upgrade this particular listing to give more accurate information, i.e., how many times a particular person downloaded a large file if that is the case.

I regularly send transfer links to many people at once. I need to know who downloads the links and who doesn't. Right now there is no way to tell. Anyone downloading the link gives me a notification but it doesn't tell me the name. To fix this, why not give us the choice to input the recipient's email before we send the link. And the recipient has to enter his or her name and email before being allowed access. That way not only there is another level of security. But also we will know exactly who downloads the link. In my business as a lawyer, who downloads the link is a important as when that person downloads the link. Currently, I can't tell. We need improvement in this regard. Thanks.

While a Dropbox transfers allow the owner to see the number of times a transfer was viewed or downloaded, it does not give us a record of the users opening the link. It would be very useful to know who has downloaded a file or archive sent by Dropbox Transfer.

I need to see a log of who downloaded the transfer--where do I get this?

(kind of absurd to offer this w/o visibility into who actually accessed the transfer)

Seconding the need to see who has downloaded a transfer. Recently had some security concerns and it would be great to know who exactly downloaded which files.

Yes, it would be great if at the transfer options dialogue box, you could add a mandatory email or name field so that it is easier to track the transfers.

Hello, this would be a really good feature for the transferlinks, as I have the same issue mentioned above. Who is Downloading it if I have no record of the People who downloaded it and I have a riddicoulous ammount of views and downloads.
