I would love it if in Dropbox> Vault you could set the lock time for inactivity at the user's choice. Now the time is fixed at 20 minutes. Directly from the Settings menu within Dropbox> Vault

I see the vault has changed to allow direct access to files on the desk top now and it also has a timeout of twenty minutes. The problem I am facing is I have a lot of stuff in there and every time it opens it starts synching. I in turn do not have access to a lot of stuff until it finishes synching. However, the vault times out and locks before it finishes synching. So I now not only have to transfer files from the vault to my Camera Uploads folder to work on them but I also have to do it only from the internet.
Suggestion 1: Have a vault password on the computer but allow it to stay permanently synched.
Suggestion 2: Allow control over the lock time. If I could change the vault lock out time to NEVER, 2 hours, 1 hours, 30 minutes, 20 minutes 5 minutes or whatever else I desire I probably wouldn't run into this.
I was searching for this option like crazy today. Fixed duration doesn't make any sense.
I would like to be able to adjust the timeout also. Or at least make so that it doesn't lock while I am still editing the file I have open.
It would be nice to be able to extend the timeout feature of Vault. I find myself having to enter my code over and over again when I am working outside of it for a period of time. I understand that this is a valuable security feature, but when I am working at home it can be a minor annoyance.
Please allow timeout adjustment!
The vault keeps closing automatically when I am not done with copying or using files from the vault. 😞
I have many documents to scan at a time during tax season. The vault times out and creates a conflict. Please allow more time before automatic locking.
Yes Yes Yes! It would be great if we could set manually the time limit for the vault. It's quite frustrating when you're in the middle of working and the files disappear. Can you add this feature, please? Thanks
Yes, there really should be an update to the Vault settings. I agree with everyone's comments; overall, it seems to me that 739bell's suggestions cover all bases and would be the best way to approach this issue.
Like schroederphoto said, the way the Vault is currently set up makes it difficult to use. Having to repeatedly enter your PIN is not ideal when you're trying to do something with your files that requires Vault access for more than 20 minutes. But a bigger issue is that the Vault's current setup gets in the way of a user even getting files uploaded or opened in many cases, which 739bell also points out before his suggestions. The Vault's automatic syncing and the time it takes to upload a large set of files are both processes that often exceed the Vault's lockout time.
If nothing else, soundmanbret's suggestion is a also good one. An update that would at least hold the Vault open when using a file would make things a lot better, especially if the Vault could also remain unlocked when uploading files.
