Implementing Boolean Operators in Searches.

Implementing Boolean Operators in Searches.

Is there any way to use Boolean operators when using the search function in DropBox ?

When I used the search I usually get too many hits, so a simple way of narrowing down the results would be very beneficial.

Hi @Walter ,

i was the original poster of the request and it's really good to see this delivered, thanks for the good news on this new feature.

i have started using the new features.

question:  when i try and search for a .jpg file using the command - type: .jpg, i get files with the word "type" in them as well as the .jpg files.

what am i doing wrong?

Hi Pete -- you want to make sure there are no spaces between the operator and the extension and you don't need a period, so: try type:jpg, and it should work!

Thanks @rhut  , that worked.
the search facilitates now are very powerful.

i have noticed that the instructions on the Dropbox website show the incorrect usage for the type command, i.e. type: .jpg vs type:jpg

well done DropBox and @rhut - these new search features has improved really made DropBox so much more useful for me!

i now don't have to use my Windows PC's operating system to search (which requires a full download of all data so the operating system can index it) - i know do powerful searching on my on DropBox via iPhone while on the run.

thanks again.
