Ability to see all shared folders

Ability to see all shared folders

I have a folder I would like to share but it gives me an error saying I can't share because there is a shared folder below. How do I find this folder to move it? There are hundreds of folders and no hint anywhere as to where it might be. I guess I could start trying to share sub branches but this is going to take forever especially if there are multiple ones. I went to the Sharing tab on Dropbox.com but none of my shared folders show there.

Agreed. This is not an acceptable solution, and not even close to the functionality that was taken away from us. We need a single page that displays ALL shared folders, regardless of where they're located with our folder structure.

Many people have trouble finding a shared folder. Either it's very deep in their folder structure or they simply don't remember where it is. We've helped many people, and often, who are trying to share a folder and can't because somewhere in the path is an already-shared folder that they can't locate. The Sharing page, as it existed previously, was a simple solution. "Go here and you'll see ALL of your shared folders. Find the one you want and unshare it."

This needs to be fixed.

Another 'agree' here. Its a backwards step. It isnt a solution at all. How on earth it got past any management is beyond me. It is yet another change to the Dropbox website which removes functionality and makes the product way more complicated than it needs to be.

Totally agree here.  Whoever approved this in the product team needs to be censured - at a minimum.  There is no excuse for removing such simple, yet useful, functionality from the product.  Changing the UI is fine.  Just dumping it is NOT!

What do you mean by easier done than said?

For Dropbox it should not be a problem to get back that overview which they had previously in their system...

I hope this doesn't break the rules. Try using Adobe DC. It has a shared function and you can move your file to Dropbox

How would that solve the issue?!

I agree we need this feature back! I am a part of so many shared folders that it was enormously helpful to have a single place in Dropbox where I could view all of my shared folders (ones shared with me and ones that I initiated the share). It made managing them so much easier because the way I have my folders structured means that I have shared folders all over the place.

I get that we can use Teams and Groups to add or remove members from several shared folders, but that seems best for onboarding/offboarding permanent members of a team/department. It's just not practical for project teams when we sometimes have 100 projects a year just in our one division and most projects are completed within that year. We would end up with hundreds of inactive groups that we have to keep in case someone needs to reference the materials in Dropbox for that project.

So this is an upvote for bringing back the shared folder view!

I so hope so that Dropbox will reconsider... The unfortunate thing is that it does not seem they would care very much..

Not a solution. Not an accepted solution.
