Since last update of Dropbox, the company folders that members have access to, are placed under their personal folder. This means that if they are using third party software to make substructures or designs and they make a reference to a library, this reference containers their personal folder name. In case, they have another role or leave the organisation, the folder with that reference will disappear. So, the substructure or design previously made, will have a reference that doesn't exist anymore. This is a disaster for organisations. 😬😧😡
The solution for this, is the put the folders they use directly under the company main folder (this sounds strange, because all the folders are company folders, but I suppose you understand what I mean...). However, in the new dropbox structure, these folders becomes visible for all members even if they do not have access to it. Strange, but this is really true.....😧 First this makes their 'folder environment' unnecessary unclear and complex. Secondly, from a company confidentiality policy this might be undesirable or even forbidden.
So, dropbox has to take care that it is possible for the administrator to hide folders in the company main folder for users that do not have access to that specific folder.
By the way.... this is really it-architecture basics...
