I need multiple drop box teams for different customers. It is not practical for everyone to create multiple e-mail addresses for each dropbox. Is there a solution for one person to be on different teams without having multiple e-mail addresses?

Hi guys,

I have two Dropbox business accounts, I think. Not my own, but I have been added as a user to two separate Dropbox business accounts via different emails.

On my macbook, my Dropbox folder syncs with one of them. I want to access the other account to use that. Can I switch between them, or have both of them syncing at the same time? I can't find a way to even sign-out of my Dropbox app on mac and into the other, only on the website, which is pointless as I need the sync ability.

I really don't understand why Dropbox is so darn complicated for having multiple accounts honestly, it's an absolute nightmare. Dropbox seems to be a different piece of software entirely on the website compared to the app.

Can someone please help me figure out how to sign into a different Dropbox account on the app so I can sync from another account?

Thanks.

You can't sync two Business accounts to the same device, at least not under the same computer user account. You can sync one Personal account (Basic, Plus or Professional) and one Business account, but you cannot sync two Personal or two Business accounts.

The only other way to sync multiple accounts would be to install each one under a different computer user account.

This issue needs to be addressed.

I am a DropBox reseller, and also use it for my business.  I have a business account and a personal account.

I'm also on several Boards of Directors, and have recommended DropBox for their board use.

It's kind of embarrassing for me, as the reseller, to tell the Board secretary to NOT add me to the board DropBox account because I can't use it.

DropBox is a perfect solution for boards.  It is easy to add new members and remove old members, and preserve the historical documents for the board.   But if any board member has a Dropbox Business account, they can't also participate in the board account.

Please fix this!

This is exactly the same problem I have. I think that's why some companies use Box Sync instead.

This is very bad.

I work in more than only one company, so I need more than one Business account. I suppose there must be a lot of people like me. I thought DropBox was the best choice. Sad.

We were just working through this scenario where a dropbox business user wanted to join a dropbox business team for the board he serves on.  After attempting to invite him to the board team, we ended up simply sharing the board folders with the user in his other business account.  As far as I can tell this accomplishes the essential purpose of shared folder collaboration, but because the user belongs to another team we don't have admin control over the shared folder on his device to do things like remove the user and delete content from his device.  Does that make sense?  Are there other security issues involved in this setup?  is there a better solution?

+1 for this. I work with multiple companies and I recommend Dropbox to all my clients. It's a major hassle that I can't manage my Pro Account and 2-3 Business account on one computer. You'd think that my use case is an ideal one from Dropbox's perspective. Help me help you! Hook me up with the ability to manage multiple business accounts please.

I dont agree this solves the issue. The two accounts should show up as two seperate folders in your finder, under the same user account. Just like if you add a normal folder.

The Accepted Answer refers to the correct answer for the question asked, and does not necessarily mean solved to a user's satisfaction. The feature you're looking for simply doesn't exist. You can request it in the Share an idea section of the forums. If it gets enough traction, you might change Dropbox's mind.
