So here are some ideas for improving on passwords.
1.) PLEASE make it so we can use Windows Hello to login. This is one thing roboform has right. I can click to open, and instead of typing my absurdlylengthy1of@kindpasswordthatno0neinthew0rldkn0wsbutME! I can simply swipe my thumb or index finger.
2.) Recovery words? Really? With all your're doing right, this one is just plain wrong. Shortly after installing I was swapping my SSD for a larger one and broke a small piece of the board on my laptop. Fortunately Fujitsu make these things in a way that I didn't need an entire board. Just a piece of one that attaches to the larger board. So I got on my desktop and went to place the order. Amazon came up and then I was presented with a need to enter the password. I entered the password I hadn't actually used it on the desktop yet. So now I was presented with a page requiring me to enter my recovery words. .... Well, the only problem is that I couldn't get into the account to get the recovery words to enter them. Apparently I was supposed to copy them ELSEWHERE (read unsecure place) in case I ever lost my primary password. What? So any person that sees this list of printed paper and as a user themselves might know what it is and suddently have access to the entire password database? That's just bizarre! This needs to be some kind of 2fa, like click here to receive an email or receive a text message, open that to launch into a list of personal questions you setup that noone else would know, combined with possibly a previously used IP and/or mac address.... Or bette still - just use an authenticator. Microsoft, Google, heck, even Zoho has one. And while you're working on it, maybe send an email at signup that says in huge letters front and center - WARNING: If you lose your password you will need this odd list of recovery words to get back into your account. Click here to login and get them. And then don't let anyone proceed any further until they do.
The rest are small suggestions and it's likely they're already being worked
3.) At the moment it looks like the desktop version is spaced in a way that the mobile version works comfortably. But on a desktop version I don't need a full page to see 8 passwords and the info. Nor do I need to scroll through the entire list on the mobile or desktop. make it react to the keyboard so when I want to work from the passwords list, I can tap R and be taken to the R section. and put an alphabet to the side so I can also click or tap the first letter. I'm aware there's a search but this is about being the best, not being just good.
4.) I understand that you're after a "clean" look. But there's a point when "less is more" becomes "less is....less". I hunted around for a good 5 minutes to find a settings page. Finally I did. in a dropdown after click a little icon near the center of the page, just barely above a working button and at the end of a search bar that had my initials. It just doesn't look like a place for a settings button. My initial instincts said to click on the dropbox logo and when I hovered over it, my mouse pretended that I was over a working link, but it didn't do anything. Meanwhile you have all this white-space.... This isn't art. It's a utility. You have a total of FOUR menu items, Preferences, Lock, Help, Send Feedback. None of which I should need to click twice for. Just put them in the big blank white space. Or put the first three there and put the feedback request elsewhere....I mean, if you really want feedback, put the request where it will be seen. I didn't even see it until AFTER I typed half of this ....which I suspect is in the wrong place since there is no mention of Passwords in the dropbox discussion area. So I'm going to now copy this and send it there as well.
OK. I know that's a lot of words. Hopefully someone will take the time to read them. I spent a lot of time writing it and only did because I really do like it and can clearly see what it could be if given the right attention to these things.
