Dropbox decided to stop RSS feeds without checking with us, their customers first!  This is a very important feature for us, many many customers.  please reply to this thread, and let's let dropbox know how important RSS feeds are for all of us!

 

DropBox... PLEASE KEEP RSS FEEDS!

Well, you do now, and for me, it is affecting an incredibly significant number of dropbox users.  Because it was pulled, I had to stop implementing dropbox for my backup strategies and stopped marketing dropbox.  What that provided to dropbox customers I have not found anywhere else.  I have been in this business for 19 years and have reviewed around 30+ cloud backup solutions.  RSS feeds provided a truly amazing experience from which no competitor could touch.

I am under the same conditions as VDS...apc1957 if the RSS is an outdated method, Dropbox should provide an alternative new method. But a new alternative method does not exist!!!

Maybe the paid version should have an alternative for those few that would use it and who are will pay extra for it.  But not the free version. Free means free. Use it or find something that is more suitable to your needs.

I use RSS feeds extensively to provide an extremely high level of service for my customers, whom I required they install Dropbox. I paid Dropbox thousands last year, and over the years have expressed my appreciation and the importance of RSS feeds numerous times. I can no longer provide the level of service my customers need, and therefore, can no longer recommend Dropbox until I can get RSS feeds back. This is an important feature, and I most certainly have paid for many years, for many accounts. This is about many mutual customers who benefit greatly from RSS feeds, and my hope is that Dropbox will reconsider dropping RSS feeds when it is used and depended upon by many of their paying customers.

I confirm that even in the paid version there is nothing like RSS Feed. I'm already looking for alternative service...unfortunately I will have to close dozens of Dropbox accounts!!!

OK, now we are having Dropbox, or someone at dropbox is monitoring and censoring this chat.  It seems there are more customers now looking for alternatives to Dropbox because they dropped RSS feeds.  One posted here on this, and now all chat are deleted.

After which I posted information on how important RSS feeds are for tracking changes in dropbox accounts and pointed out to apc1957 that he now knows someone who does use RSS feeds, and does extensively.

And in my case, I am responsible to track files for more than dozens of dropbox users.  I paid thousands to dropbox last year.

This seems to be a big issue and dropbox is now censoring this discussion.  I just had another customer drop off their dropbox account yesterday because of a problem with that computer, and I was notified because of RSS feeds.  Without them, customers will continue to drop off their accounts regularly, and nobody will know.  Dropbox has connection problems, update problems, sync problems, etc.  I have had customers losing backups with competitors for months!  With RSS feeds, I know within 24h if something is wrong.  RSS feeds are critically important!!

 

PLEASE BRING BACK RSS FEEDS!

I do not care for censorship at all. People can disagree without hating each other. Censorship never advances new ideas or solves problems. Your post is a prime example. Everyone now knows that you pay for dropbox, which changes my opinion quite a bit. Anyone paying for dropbox should have the features that they need to run their business. Moreover, this continued discussion has allowed other people to see both sides of the argument. I suppose dropbox feels they have grown too big to fail. I find that amusing since they begged people to use their service when they were first starting out. Shame on DropBox for allowing their forums to become a fortress of censorship.
