I would like to set up a scyn schedule so that my dropbox updates during the evening at my office and pauses in the morning.

Is there a way that I can do this?

Hello, I'd like to make a suggestion for a feature. Is this the place to do that? I would like to be able to (similar to smart sync) choose a folder and schedule how often that folder should sync. Possibly only every 15 minutes. Hopefully there would be several options to choose from as far as frequency. I would then store my larges files in a folder that does not sync quite so often, therefore hopefully use less internet, and at the same time create less version history. I have a habit of saving to my hard drive frequently, and of course Dropbox does the same then too. But I don't need to save every few minutes to Dropbox, just to my hard drive in case of a software crash. Thank you for continually adding new features!

Hi @Ryan M.64

Thanks for sharing this idea. I moved the post to the "Share an idea" area.

I understand you want something like an ignore list for folders, to have the ability to pause their syncing for a period of time. This would result in the changes not syncing on the Dropbox cloud, for the time you select. Correct? Is this how you would like this to work?

We appreciate your input. Happy Friday!

Hey everyone, this idea is going to need a bit more support before we share your suggestion with our team.

As such, we’ve updated the status to encourage more users to back you up!

If you have any other questions or ideas about features that you'd like to see implemented in the future, just give us a shout. Cheers!

For sure, I would love more support. I would have expected Dropbox to like this idea just as much as anyone. If large files get saved less often, it should save you storage. Ryan

I, too, would kill/murder/maim/destroy to have this feature, and for the reasons the Australians have identified above - because I get a lot of data between 1am and 6am, and not as much between "prime time".

A really simple option to "sync all at [x] time], plus the ability to schedule indidivdual folders so some sync immediately, and others sync at the specified time.

And [x time] includes hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, etc. Much the same as scheduling calender items.

I would love to have this feature... we're currently disabling sync each morning, then re-enabling it at the end of day. During work hours, syncing of certain files interferes with some of our applications. Please implement this a schedule sync feature... it just makes sense!
