To see file size for Online only files when Smart Sync for Mac is enabled

To see file size for Online only files when Smart Sync for Mac is enabled

Hi, it will be good to be able to check the size of the files that are stored online via the Dropbox desktop application and Smart Sync.

sometimes for these Online files, need to have a overview to see their files size in the Mac OSX Finder, i have seen it done before with other sync client (i.e online files but file size is shown properly).

Hopefully the underlying structure Dropbox is using can be tweaked (if needed) to allow for such. Thanks.

Hi @DefengL, are you referring to a method of viewing the file size in your OS?

This should be possible by right clicking the file and then Get Info? The size of the files should be visible there, while the size on disk for an online-only file will be zero bytes.

If you're not referring to this, please could you clarify further?

Hi Jay, yes i know about "Get Info".

this is a improvement suggestion for "Size on disk for an online-only file will be zero bytes", which is the case now.

- even with online-only file, the size can still be correctly indicated. I have seen this being done with other sync clients with their treatment of online-only files.
