Warning when disconnecting external drive

Warning when disconnecting external drive

Good day. I hope this finds you well.
I know you recommend not using external had drives, but with newer machines with limited internal space and a 2 or 3 TB Dropbox account, the reality is that external drives are the only way to go.
So here is my suggestion:
When a Dropbox drive gets disconnected, Dropbox should ask: "Your filles will be deleted. Are you sure you want to delete your files?" Then give the user the option to say YES if they indeed want to delete the files or say NO and allow them to reconnect the drive without loss of files.
Thank you advance for your help.

totally agree with this. it's madness that dropbox can't work sensibly with external drives. I have mass file deletions happen EVERY week, within seconds of dropbox app not locating the dropbox folder it will routinely and instantly delete 10k files. terrible design!

here it is... the sickening moment when you realise that in the few seconds after your laptop waking from sleep, the dropbox app couldn't see the external drive (because it takes a few seconds to also wake up) and so dropbox instantly KILLS thousands of files. who came up with such a disastrous design?
