Adobe Flash "Open" functionality replacement?

Hi there,

What does the replacement for the Adobe Flash browser "Open" functionality look like, and when can we expect an alpha or beta release of the feature? Dropbox is becoming much less useful as my blended Mac and PC office cannot easily access files via link sharing and "Open"...

I'd be more than happy to help look into this with you, but to make sure that we're on the same page, could you clarify if you're having any trouble previewing or opening your files? Are you getting any errors? 

Any additional info or screenshots (without personal info) as to what you're seeing or trying to achieve would be very helpful.
