BEWARE - New 3 device limit policy is NOT actually supported.

New member | Level 2

I've been a long time dropbox user.  I've had the same 4 devices for 3 years.  Windows update forced me to uninstall / reinstall dropbox.  When setting up the new instance of dropbox, it showed the device I previously installed but did not recognize it.  Forcing me to remove one previously registered device.  The promise to grandfather in already registered devices is NOT TRUE.

Hey @MDGallaugher!

Welcome to our Community.

Sometimes the system keeps a record of old devices that have not been diconnected properly, but just haven't been used for a long time. No worries though!

Let's delete the connection with any old mobile and computer devices remaining visiting our security page, here. Just click "x" next to any old devices you have there.

Drop them to 2 and the device you are trying to install will be the third one you can have connected.

Let me know if this worked for you or you need further assistance. Thanks!
