Beta version of dropbox app is eating up way too much CPU while no processes seem to be running

Explorer | Level 3

I, unfortunately, installed the beta version of Dropbox and whenever dropbox is running, it uses up all of my processing power and causes the fans to run non-stop.

Also, quitting the app doesn't work. The only way to get the app to stop running is by opening the monitor app and force closing it that way.

Hey there @John P.155, I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with this!

If you'd like to install the stable version instead then you'll need to toggle off the option for "Early releases" towards the bottom of your account settings page here. Then you can download the latest stable version from here and run the installer.

If you're still having issues with the app then please let me know exactly which version you have installed at the moment.

I hope this helps, let me know how it goes - thanks!
