Blue Screen of Death on Win10 with CylancePROTECT

Great news for enterprise Symantec users. Are you able to do this for CylancePROTECT as well?

Hey @bubbachuck!

Are you having an issue similar to what's described here but with CylancePROTECT instead of Symantec running on your devices?

A little more info would be super helpful just to make sure I fully understand exactly what the issue is that you're having with this particular software.

Hi,

 

I have just been through this thread and am having the same issue as many folks are describing. Corporate machine - no control over antivirus software etc. Dropbox causing BSoD when it starts to sync. We have CylancePROTECT version 2.0.1530.5

Our IT encouraging us away from Dropbox - and I am close to agreeing - but I like it better than the alternatives so would love to stick with it if this issue can be resolved quickly.

Correct. I tried syncing again and still gets BSOD so it appears that CylancePROTECT has not updated its database (as Symantec has). I'm in similar boat as @EdL.

Just an update: Dropbox is able to sync now without BSOD. I'm on Windows 10 on a work computer using CylancePROTECT. No idea if the fix was through Dropbox or CylancePROTECT, but I'm happy!

Lucky for you, bubbachuck! I saw your reply and updated Dropbox. Lasted about three seconds into syncing before getting a BSoD.
