Can't See Dropbox in File Explorer

Can't See Dropbox in File Explorer

I installed Dropbox on a Windows 10 PC and can access my account via a browser but can't see it in the File Explorer.  What do I need to do to be able to have my Dropbox account with the associated folders/files listed on File Explorer?

Hi there, could you check if the Dropbox icon appears in the system tray near the clock? Is it white, grey or with some other overlay on it?

Also, make sure you not installing the mobile version of the app from the Windows store.

To be certain, trying installing the app again using this link.

Let me know how it goes!

The icon in the system tray has a white background.

If it has a white background, with a blue Dropbox logo, then you’re running the Windows store app.

This version doesn’t actively sync files and no Dropbox folder is created.

Could you try installing the full desktop application as per my previous message?

I ran the installer from your link (it appears to be the same .exe that I ran before a couple of times) and it said that it finished ok but I still can't see a 'Dropbox' folder listed on File Explorer.  Any ideas how to get it to show up there so that I can use it locally?

During the installation, you should have had an option to sign in to your account. Did that occur? Is it possible that the Dropbox icon is hidden behind the :upwards_button: icon?

Thanks--at this point I'm just going to delete the account and start over. I appreciate your help.

I have the same issue and can't afford to delete my account because it contains sensitive data. I have used the link above, but it is still not syncing. I have uninstalled anything related to dropbox and started fresh, it asks me to login, but never creates the link to my file explorer on Win 10

If reinstalling it didn't help much @mbrendandyer; you can try a clean, advanced re-install

I followed the directions for windows and removed anything related to Dropbox and rebooted. I used the link you sent and installed dropbox. Same thing happened again. All the prompts for logging in were through the browser not the app. Is there a way to block the browser from doing that?

I still can't get it to appear on my explorer.
