Can’t attach word files via Dropbox

Can’t attach word files via Dropbox

Carriep

I am unable to attach windows word, .dox files, to emails via the iOS email application on my iPad. When I touch the file it wiggles or takes me to the renaming screen instead of attaching the file. I am using the most recent version of the Dropbox app and iOS 12.2. Thank you

Hey again @Carriep

You could give a re-installation of the mobile app a try and see if that does the trick.

In the meantime, I've sent you a ticket to the email address associated with your Community profile so if the issue persists, don’t hesitate to give me a nudge there.

Hi there @Carriep, sorry to hear that.

Could you please elaborate a bit on this so as to have a better understanding of your query? For example:
  • Is this occurring with only Word documents, or other files as well?
  • Are you able to attach a file from your internal mobile storage without any errors?
Could you also send me a screenshot (without any personal info) of any error message or the behavior that you’re seeing?

Thanks in advance!

PS. You can attach an image in your reply by one of the following options:

I am not seeing an error message, I simply can’t get it to attach. Other types of files attach fine.  I am able to attach files from my iPad files.

Thanks for getting back to me on this, @Carriep

Hmm. This might be a shot in the dark, but have you by any chance relaunched the apps and rebooted the device? Maybe that will do the trick.

Yes. The only thing I haven’t tried is deleting the Dropbox app and reloading it. Should I try that?
