Can't log in on desktop Mac App

I recently had to wipe my hard drive and reinstall everything. I can't get the dropbox app to log in. It says, rather unhelpfully, "There was a problem completing this request."

 

Here's the exact sequence of what I've done so far:

-Erased hard drive

-fresh install of Monterey

-restored dropbox folder from a backup

-installed dropbox, tried to log in, got error

-realized I had too many devices linked, so unlinked the old ones

-tried to log in, got the error

-restarted the computer, tried to log in, got the error.

 

Any help much appreciated!
