All it needs is a simple option:
Really should not be that much to ask.
I’d like to add to my original post that I love Dropbox. It’s an integral part of my daily workflow, and I’d be lost without it.
I have no problem in the least with the change the company has made. I believe that it will be good for many, especially new users going forward.
My problem is that the new way isn’t optional. All I and many ask is that we not be forced to go forward with no way to return to a workflow that’s the most efficient for us.
As always, thanks for listening.
Hi Jane, i have not received any emails from you yet. Please let me know, thanks
It really does very little good to solve this privately for just one person. Having that thing in the dock is a useless annoyance. You need to solve this for everyone.
I -along with most other users- use Dropbox for file syncing. It is great that Dropbox offers additional features, but you need to let the user discover those on their own and choose to use them. As is almost always true, the most minimal interface is the best interface for a service like this. Having a second (slow, web based) interface load without customer consent at every boot is a real pain, a resource hog, and totally useless for most of us. As a buisness person myself, I get it. Forcing the "second" app-based interface on the customer is Dropbox's way of marketing the new features to us. It will backfire. It always does. Marketing 101. The sooner Dropbox makes an about-face and removes the requirement that the app interface is always running, the better - for Dropbox.
Hey @jeki69, I’ve just replied back to you & I’ve now submitted your inquiry for review to a team specialist in form of a question. From there @rjb102, whenever I have an update to share on this matter, I'll make sure to post it on this discussion here!

I have signed up for the early-access program of the new Dropbox and got in.
The app is cool but I hate the fact that it shows up on the dock and I have to quit every time.
How do I opt-out?
Thanks! Did that but probably takes a while for it to have an effect on my system as it still opens the new app.
If You have lot of files in the Dropbox directory, some time could be need to index all and rebuild the internal database (keeping timestamps for every one file).
