Can't sign into Dropbox - No internet connection

Hi All - I've have been unable to install and use dropbox since getting a new macbook. I am running macos catalina 10.15.7.  I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app. The app won't open because it says i have no internet connection. I was able to go into the settings and switch to "no proxy" as suggested in another post; no effect. I tried disabling my firewall as suggested in another post; no effect. I see a prompt that says "Waiting to be linked to a dropbox account" but I can't sign in from the desktop app; is there another way around this?  Any help would be appreciated, I am quite dependent on dropbox!  Thanks!

Hey @aeykelbosh; welcome to our Community!

Can you please let me know if you installed the desktop app with admin privileges in the first place?

While at it, have you also ensured that this is not caused by an antivirus on you computer?
